Hello Cairo, Jeddah, Amman, Riyadh, Dubai and Casablanca!
Welcome to all those who have joined in response to Ahmad Alshugairi’s programme Khawa6er!
In less than 48hours more than 7,100 Streetbank members have joined us and already, many of you are sharing things with your neighbours – things like DVDs, books and camping equipment - and discovering just how generous your neighbours can be.
As you can see from the map, together we are starting a movement – one that is built on generosity, friendliness and on holding what we own lightly.
We are a small team based in London, working on this not-for-profit idea with very limited resources. However, what we have learnt is that it is Streetbank members that carry the idea forward and turn a small idea into a big movement! If that excites you, here are three things you can do to accelerate the neighbourhood sharing movement:
1. Offer something for lending or giving away – perhaps you have an old TV that a neighbour might value, or a ladder you could lend. One act of generosity sparks another and another. Just click here
2. Meet up – if you live in Jeddah, Cairo, Amman, Riyadh, Dubai or Casablanca and would like to meet with other Streetbank members to think how you can grow the movement in your city please send an email, preferably in English, to Kate at kate@streetbank.com
3. Invite your neighbours - by clicking here or share on facebook by clicking here .

The website’s concept is amazing, it Motivates people to know, trust and help their neighbors ..which is exactly what Islam Encourages us to do.

Our Prophet peace be Upon him Also advised us to take care of our neighbors. Thus it was of a no surprise that we were very responsive to Street Bank.. We needed something to remind us that people are good .. we needed something that would help us resurrect the warmth and friendliness that used to be associated with neighbors and neighborhoods..
We can never Thank Mr. Ahmad enough for spreading awareness about revolutionary ideas like yours..
